This flavor reasonably duplicates the berry known as Sea-Buckthorn. The berry is indigenous to the Far East, but has been widely cultivated in Europe where it is used similarly to the cranberry or the lingonberry, cooked and made into preserves after sweetening. The fruit itself is tart, somewhat sweet, is complex and aromatic. It is somewhat oily and has good endurance and humidity resistance. It makes an excellent mixer to make regular flavors more tart.
