How should I store my shisha tobacco?
It's essential that you keep your hookah tobacco away from excessive light, heat, and air to ensure it does not degrade in quality over time. Nearly all shisha will come packaged in a jar, box, or bag which will block most light and air and should keep rather well as long as it's stored at room temerature, and has not been opened. Once you open the package, we recommend moving your shisha from its original packaging to a resealable bag or container. Some brands, such as Fumari Hookah Tobacco, have resealable packaging - but with almost all other brands you will want to invest in a secondary storage container in order to ensure the freshest and most vibrant shisha.
In our experience the best plan for shisha storage is as follows:
1) Open your shisha packaging and remove the shisha tobacco.
2) Wrap your remaining shisha in plastic wrap, then transfer your shisha to an air-tight, resealable storage container.
3) Store your new containers in a drawer or cabinet in a room temperature environment to reduce exposure to excessive light and heat.
Some people will recommend storing your shisha in the fridge to extend its life, but this is not necessary as long as your shisha is in an air-tight container and kept away from light and heat. We have a few storage options available here in our shop:
