Tangiers Hookah Tobacco is one of the most popular brands of shisha tobacco sold in our store. Unlike other brands, Tangiers requires a little more preparation ahead of time and is stronger, nicotine-wise, than most. Tangiers tobacco is also packaged in a vacuum sealed plastic bag instead of a jar or tin. Because of the unorthodox nature of the tobacco, it comes with an instruction sheet explaining how to properly acclimate and pack it. Because of its wet nature it's best smoked in a bowl that allows the juices to stew, like a Phunnel Bowl or Vortex Bowl. Many Tangiers fans use a Hookah Flip Bowl and swear that it's the best!
The first question you may be asking is: Why are you always sold out of most of the flavors? The short answer has to do with supply and demand: There simply isn’t enough to go around. Tangiers is a small operation based in California and only produces small batches at a time. As a result, Tangiers has developed a cult following and getting your hands on a particular flavor has become somewhat of a treasure hunt.
There are five different lines of Tangiers, and here's a little more information on them:
Tangiers Noir is the original line that was first produced. It's unwashed, which means it's quite strong. This is also the line that requires the most acclimation, meaning that it needs to "air out" so to speak and get used to the surrounding atmosphere. Some of the popular flavors include Cane Mint, Blue Gumball, and Horchata.
Tangiers Lucid is the "light" version of the original line that has less nicotine. It's also the only version that's washed, so it's less "buzzy."
Hold on to your butts, this line is going to take you for a ride. F-Line contains caffeine for that extra buzz. Tangiers F-Line isn't for the faint of heart, so if you're new to hookah you may want to start with something less potent.
Tangiers Birquq requires less acclimation than Noir. It's also less sensitive to heat, so you can use fewer coals per session. In case you were wondering what the name means, it's pronouced "bher-KOOK" and it's the phonetic spelling of the Arabic word for "plum."
Tangiers Burley is the latest line, and is the strongest shisha Tangiers has produced. Tangiers Burley has more of a robust tobacco flavor, and higher nicotine content than the other lines of Tangiers. Try Burley if you're looking for a more intense buzz.
